Personalized weight training

Weight training app with a plan that grows with you

The GrabGains weight training app builds a plan around your goal, experience, training frequency and equipment. You track every set, rep and weight, see exactly what you did last time, and the app suggests weights and reps for your next workout as you get stronger. Not a log you have to interpret yourself, but a plan that moves with you.

Weight training tracker app

The app remembers what you lifted last time

As a weight training tracker app, it keeps your previous session for every exercise, set by set: one tap away while you train, and next to today’s sets in your exercise log afterwards. Weight and reps are suggested for each exercise based on your recent workouts and how heavy your sets felt, so you never have to guess what today’s next step is. You log between sets and work through the entire workout that way.

  • Your previous session set by set, one tap away while you log
  • Suggested weight and reps for every exercise
  • A rest timer that keeps running on your lock screen

Weight training program app

A plan that fits around your week

As a weight training program app, it turns your goal, experience, training days and equipment into a complete plan. Full body, upper/lower or push/pull/legs: you see which exercises are scheduled for each day and swap them without compromising the structure of your plan.

  • A plan based on your goal, level and number of training days
  • Swap exercises for an equivalent alternative, once or for good
  • Move workouts when your week changes

At-home weight training app

Dumbbells, a barbell or just your bodyweight

An at-home weight training app only works if it knows what you have. Check off your equipment and the app builds your workouts around it. Only a set of dumbbells? Then you get a complete dumbbell plan. Have a barbell? Those exercises show up in your plan. And with bodyweight only, your progress comes from reps, sets and harder variations.

  • Dumbbells, barbell, kettlebell, cables, machines, bands or bodyweight
  • Training somewhere else for a day? Change the equipment for that one workout
  • Swaps only offer alternatives that fit your equipment

Bodyweight

Getting stronger without weights

You can train in a structured way with bodyweight alone, as long as your progress comes from somewhere. Instead of adding weight, you progress through reps, sets and harder variations: when you reach the top of the rep range, the app can suggest a harder variation. The app tracks those variables, so your progress stays visible even when the weight doesn’t go up.

  • Filter the exercise library by bodyweight
  • With Pro, adjust a workout to how you feel that day
  • Reschedule workouts when your week changes

Exercise library

Know exactly how to perform every exercise

Search the exercise library by muscle group, equipment and type. For each exercise you see which muscles are worked, a demonstration of the movement, step-by-step instructions and, where available, a video guide.

Has an exercise been reviewed by a physiotherapist or another expert? Then the app shows who reviewed it, so you can check your technique before the weight goes up.

  • Filter by muscle group, equipment or training type
  • Instructions for every exercise, with a video guide where available
  • Save favorites and add them straight to your workout

Why GrabGains

Why it works

Everything in one app

Planning, logging and progress in one place. No plan in a spreadsheet next to a separate tracker that calculates nothing for you.

Track every lift

Every set, rep and weight in a few taps. The app then calculates your personal records, estimated 1RM and volume per muscle group for you.

Any form of resistance

Barbell, dumbbells, machines, cables or resistance bands: everything counts toward the same plan and the same progress.

At home and in the gym

Your plan is built around the equipment you have. Training somewhere else for a day? Change the equipment for that one workout.

What the best weight training app should do

The best app for weight training combines three things: a plan that fits your goal and equipment, tracking fast enough to do between sets, and a suggestion for your next workout based on what you lifted. Miss any one of those three and you’re left with a log you have to interpret yourself.

01

Smart Workouts

You enter your goal, your experience, how often you want to train and what equipment you have. The result is a weight training plan that grows with you: the suggested weights and reps adjust as you progress, while you stay in control of exercises, scheduling and intensity.

02

Muscle Zone Tracking

Your weekly training volume per muscle group, from maintenance to growth zone, and how it is distributed. You see which muscle groups get plenty of work and where there is room for more.

Track your progress
03

Every set in seconds

Log sets, reps and weight in a few taps. While training you see your previous performance and a suggested next step, plus a rest timer, plate calculator and separate warm-up sets.

04

Exercise library

Exercises with instructions, video guides where available and filters for muscle group, equipment and type. Swap an exercise without throwing off your plan.

Records and insights

Personal records, an estimated one-rep max, streaks and a training calendar. Weekly and monthly reviews show where you’re getting stronger and how consistently you train.

Separate tracker, spreadsheet or all in one

A spreadsheet is free and fully flexible, but calculates nothing for you. A separate tracker logs, but doesn’t plan. GrabGains handles planning, logging and progression in the same app.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best weight training app?

The best weight training app adapts your plan to your goal, experience, training frequency and available equipment, and tracks every set and rep so your progress becomes visible. GrabGains combines both in Smart Workouts: the suggested weights grow with your performance, while you stay in control of exercises, scheduling and intensity.

Can I use a weight training app to train at home?

Yes. In GrabGains you enter the equipment you have, from nothing to a full home gym, and your plan is built around it. If your equipment changes, your next plan follows, and for a single workout somewhere else you can change the equipment for that workout only.

Is the GrabGains weight training app free?

Yes, the app is free to download and new accounts get 14 days of Pro for free. After that you can keep using the free Basic version to log workouts, browse the exercise library, follow the feed and track your personal records, or choose Pro for generating Smart Workouts, Muscle Zone Tracking, the AI coach and adjusting a workout to how you feel. Pro prices for your country are shown in the App Store and Google Play. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your account settings, at least 24 hours before renewal.

How often should I do weight training?

You choose how often you want to train each week; your plan is built on that frequency and you can move workouts when your week changes. GrabGains provides general fitness and training information only and is not a medical service. Consult a healthcare professional before starting a new training program.

Does the app track which muscle groups I train?

Yes. With Muscle Zone Tracking you see your weekly training volume per muscle group and how it is distributed, so you notice which muscle groups are getting too little attention.

Is this weight training app good for beginners?

Yes. You enter your experience level during onboarding and your plan starts with volume and rest that fit it. Every exercise comes with step-by-step instructions and a video guide where available, and the app shows who reviewed an exercise when it has been checked by a physiotherapist or another expert. The app suggests weight and reps for each exercise, so you never have to guess.

Is GrabGains a good weight training app for women?

Yes. GrabGains builds your plan around your own goal, whether that is building muscle, getting stronger or getting lean. With Priority Zones you pick up to two areas you want to improve most, such as glutes or legs, and your plan puts extra emphasis there.
